Foreword
On the Founding of the Realm
In the first season of the Realm, there were no Houses, no banners, and no Crown — only a circle of longtime companions bound by rivalry, loyalty, and a shared love of competition. From that circle, a new league was conceived, not as a fleeting diversion, but as a dynasty meant to endure. Rosters were not assembled for a single campaign, but for a future yet unwritten. Every draft, every trade, and every result would become part of a growing record.
From its beginning, the Realm was shaped by intent. It was neither casual nor chaotic. It was designed to reward foresight, discipline, and long-term mastery. As seasons passed, continuity gave weight to victory, and permanence gave meaning to loss. What was built was not simply a league, but a living contest whose past would forever influence its future.
As the league expanded, so too did its identity. Houses formed and took root across the Realm, each occupying its own place within a broader landscape of rivalry and ambition. Territories emerged not by chance, but by the natural pull of competition — dividing the field into regions, alignments, and enduring adversaries. Over time, these divisions would become as important to the history of the league as any single season.
It was during this early age that the language of the Realm settled into place. Teams became known as Houses. Managers took the mantle of Lords and Ladies. Rivalries, once informal, began to carry names, colors, and symbols. The league did not assume this structure by decree — it grew into it, as all lasting institutions do.
At the center of this formation stood Lord John Carbonneau, founder of the league and architect of its design. From the moment of its creation, he assumed the mantle of Steward of Affairs, responsible for maintaining order, preserving records, and safeguarding the integrity of competition. His authority arose not from elections nor conquest, but from authorship itself — from having built the Realm and set its laws in motion.
The Crown was established as the ultimate measure of supremacy. To hold it is to stand above one’s peers not merely for a season, but within the continuing history of the league. It confers a lasting recognition that extends beyond the schedule — into every gathering, every celebration, and every retelling of past victories.
This Crown Ledger exists so that none of that history is lost.
Within these pages are recorded the laws that govern the Realm, the Houses that contest it, and the outcomes that define it. As years pass and lives change, this Ledger shall remain — a continuous chronicle of competition, legacy, and shared memory.
The Realm was not inherited.
It was built.
And its Crown is claimed only through mastery.

Seats of Power
The following locations are the formal seats of the Twelve Houses. Each House governs exactly one seat.
The Cinderheart
House: Stroud of Darkness
A massive volcanic caldera at the center of the Realm. The Cinderheart is both a source of power and a permanent scar dividing north and south.
The Frostspire
House: Jake
A lightning-crowned ice peak in the far Imperial north. The Frostspire is the highest and most fortified stronghold in the Realm.
The Pale Mirror
House: Mystic River Mayehem
A vast frozen lake whose reflective surface dominates the northern interior. The Pale Mirror is both a seat of power and a natural barrier.
The Houndlands
House: DolosDawgz
A brutal highland region of broken stone and hunting grounds. The Houndlands form the eastern Imperial frontier.
The Evermarch Gulf
House: Forward Progress
A northern gulf whose steady tides support trade, travel, and naval dominance for Forward Progress.
The Riftscour
House: The Reckoning
A fractured riverland and scarred border region. The Riftscour marks a volatile Imperial frontier.
The Pressure Vaults
House: The Diamond Horde
A subterranean mining basin beneath the Baron south. The Pressure Vaults are the economic engine of the Realm.
The Butcher’s Rise
House: Baker’s Dough Boys
An elevated and fortified region overlooking the Blackwake. The Butcher’s Rise controls vital southern trade routes.
The Pyrewastes
House: Flaming Dragon
A scorched volcanic expanse in the Baron east. The Pyrewastes are a land of fire, ash, and relentless heat
The Crownwater
House: Outworld Order
An inland sea at the heart of the Baron south. The Crownwater is a strategic maritime crossroads.
The Stormbound Sea
House: Tsuenami Mami
A violent open ocean of shifting currents and storms. Tsuenami rules not by land, but by control of the waves.
The Skull Rift Peaks
House: North Medford Nightmare
A jagged mountain range in the Baron south. The Skull Rift Peaks form a natural fortress and defensive bastion.
Unclaimed Lands
These regions are labeled on the Realm Map but are not governed by any House. They are sites of conflict, danger, or lawlessness.
The Ashfall March
A vast belt of scorched earth and drifting ash surrounding the Cinderheart. It is the most contested land in the Realm.
The Ironwaste
A barren, stripped landscape in the Baron east. The Ironwaste bears the scars of industry and war.
The Blackwake
A dark inland sea west of the Baron heartlands. Wrecks and ruins lie beneath its surface.
The Bonefall
A cursed southern coastline marked by skullfields and death. Few who enter the Bonefall return.
Preamble to the crown ledger
This ledger is set down to preserve records, not to grant favor.
It exists so that seasons are not forgotten, achievements are not disputed, and history is not rewritten by convenience or sentiment. What is recorded herein reflects outcome alone—victory, defeat, and distinction as they occurred.
Each entry stands as it was earned.
Houses rise and fall in standing, but their names endure. Championships are held briefly, then surrendered. Honors are recognized without promise of repetition. No record within these Annals implies destiny, entitlement, or protection from consequence.
The language of this ledger is deliberate.
Titles are granted only for a season.
Distinctions are noted without embellishment.
Silence is preferred where explanation is unnecessary.
Once inscribed, an entry is not revised.
Errors are corrected only by formal amendment.
Omissions are accepted as part of the record.
This ledger does not judge intent.
It does not measure effort.
It records what occurred.
Let future seasons be added with restraint.
Let victories speak without amplification.
Let the houses be known by what they claimed, and what they failed to claim.

On Authority and Amendment
This Ledger serves as the official record of outcome, distinction, and seasonal history of the Lords of the Lateral.
It is descriptive in purpose and authoritative in reference. Where records conflict, this Ledger prevails.
The Steward of Affairs is the sole custodian of this Ledger. The Steward is responsible for its maintenance, interpretation, and preservation. Authority granted herein pertains only to the accuracy and continuity of records, not to the governance of play beyond what is recorded.
Once inscribed, entries stand as written.
Errors may be corrected only by formal amendment. An amendment shall be dated, appended, and preserved alongside the original entry. Original records are not erased, overwritten, or obscured.
Interpretation favors outcome over intent. Where ambiguity exists, restraint governs. Absence of record does not imply absence of occurrence; it reflects only what was preserved.
This Ledger does not create entitlement, exemption, or protection. It records what occurred.
Supplemental materials, platforms, or contemporaneous records may inform entries but do not supersede them.
This authority endures across seasons and stewards unless expressly dissolved by unanimous accord of the Houses.

On Amendment Procedure
Amendments to this Ledger are permitted solely to correct errors, omissions, or mis-recorded outcomes.
An amendment must identify the original entry with specificity, state the correction without embellishment, be dated upon entry, and be appended alongside the original record.
Original entries shall remain visible and intact. No amendment shall erase, overwrite, or obscure the initial inscription.
Amendments shall not reinterpret outcome, revise tone, or alter distinction once properly recorded.
Disagreement does not constitute error.
Consensus does not compel revision.
All amendments are entered at the discretion of the Steward of Affairs and preserved as part of the permanent record.
Procedures governing amendment are set forth immediately herein.

Forward Progress advances without retreating. Each season is a campaign of accumulation; pressure builds one decision at a time. While others gamble on swings of fortune, this house erodes opponents through persistence.

Matching the standard set before them, they claimed eleven victories of their own—and with six defeats and learned the league before mastering it.
